When I was a young girl, long before I was a goth, my mother and I collected Madame Alexander dolls together. I had an early 1970s “Alice in Wonderland” that I played with dutifully, brushing her long blonde hair; and my mom had one that she kept pristine and displayed as a collector item. I wasn’t really a fan of the Alice in Wonderland books, but enjoyed the doll nonetheless.
Now as an adult, I’m tempted to buy this “Down the Rabbit Hole” doll (via Amazon; affiliate link) for my darkest little niece. I’d probably wrap it in a box with a nice illustrated modern version of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” book too.
This collector Alice doll wears a darling blue and white striped dress, white apron, and black hair bow. (Never mind that Alice’s dress was depicted early on as white, yellow, or red).
